First Baptist Church of Trumann is passionate about making disciples of every generation and needs fresh vision and leadership to help us accomplish this task. We are looking to hire a team-player that will focus his energy on engaging the next generation (children through young adults) and providing spiritual oversight to these ministries.

  • Seek to help the next generation, develop and cultivate daily, how to worship Jesus, walk with Him daily, and witness to the lost for His glory.
  • Seek to provide every child, student, and young adult, godly, caring leaders, along with biblical, safe, and creative learning environments, where they can grow spiritually as they do life with others in community, and on mission.
  • Establish and maintain a professional involvement with all the children and youth of the church, and avoid situations that place him alone with individual youth at any given time. All counseling should be conducted in a semi-private setting (open door with another adult nearby.)
  • Arrange for and insure adequate male and female supervision for all youth activities while any youth are present including pre-arrival and post-departure.
  • Create consistent opportunities for kids, students and young adults, to serve their church, while also equipping them to live out God’s mission every day in their home, school, community, and world.
  • Foster an invitational culture that mobilizes kids, students and young adults to engage their community, with the goal of reaching those who are not yet followers of Jesus Christ, while also guiding them to get connected to a local church.

Other Duties

  • Be willing, able, and excited to preach to the entire congregation on Sunday mornings occasionally.
  • Assist in ministering to those in need.
  • Contribute to the overall mission and vision of First Baptist Church.
  • Assist other staff members and ministry teams to help pursue their goals.
  • Carry out any other incidental duties assigned by the Senior Pastor.

A college degree in ministry is preferred, but we will consider all qualified candidates. The most important education is one of a continued-learner. Attend conferences, network with other ministers in this field, and read books on Next Generation Ministry.

BACKGROUND CHECKS: You Owe It To Your Church

A ministry that serves children and youth has the obligation to exercise “due diligence” with regards to protecting its members, especially the children. By performing background checks on your perspective ministers your church is…

  • Putting up a safeguard at the “doorway” of the organization that will, in most cases, scare off sexual predators.
  • Offering peace of mind to discerning parents when choosing a church, by knowing your ministry is being pro-active in trying to protect the children.

Protect My Ministry -

Protect My Ministry

Thousands of ministries trust Protect My Ministry, a ministry background check company. One of the only background check companies that will do a free “re-verification” of records from the national criminal database for a volunteer, and to also do a “true” 50 state search on sexual offenders.

Protect My Ministry is a Christian-owned and operated business, being 51% business and 49% ministry. This business was started as the co-owners noticed that churches were not fully aware of the best sources for background checks or truly what they were getting.
