Church of God (Anderson, IN)

Clairemont Church of God hereinafter referred to as CCOG (affiliated with the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana), is currently seeking an individual who is called by God to serve as our part-time (approximately 10 hours per week) Youth Director. We are seeking the following attributes in our candidate: follower of Jesus Christ with a strong daily devotional/prayer life, full of the Holy Spirit, humble, dependable, positive, teachable, leader, team player, equipper, out-going, mature, able to teach the Bible to teens, and one who exhibits a pastor’s heart and will care for the teens and volunteers which he/she leads.

The Youth Director will work closely with and be under the leadership and authority of the Lead Pastor. The Youth Director will be required to network and communicate on a regular basis with the parents and congregation regarding upcoming events, plans, and various youth group activities. This position will emphasize building teams, recruiting and working with volunteers, and delegating authority. Even though there may be other leaders and volunteers in this ministry, this candidate (you) will be the primary Youth Director.

CCOG is located in beautiful San Diego, California. At this time, the church numbers approximately 75-100 people. Our facility is conveniently located in Clairemont, one of the local neighborhoods in San Diego. The demographic of the congregation is culturally and generationally diverse. As we see in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) the mission of the church is to make disciples who make other disciples. At CCOG, we have summarized the church’s mission as WIN people to Christ, BUILD people in Christ, and SEND people with Christ. We place high value on discipleship and are currently moving towards becoming a disciple-making church. Additionally, CCOG has a long history of effective youth ministry, and we are asking God to strategically lead us to the next leader to continue to grow this ministry.

After praying and seeking the heart of God, if you feel led to apply for this position, please email your cover letter and resume, including 3 references, to our Lead Pastor, Janet Werdowatz. Any additional information to help us get to know who you are is greatly appreciated (i.e. video, sermons, Vimeo, you tube, etc.). Our search team will carefully review your resume and respond to you in a timely manner with additional information.
May the Lord guide you and give you wisdom as you pray about this special calling!

BACKGROUND CHECKS: You Owe It To Your Church

A ministry that serves children and youth has the obligation to exercise “due diligence” with regards to protecting its members, especially the children. By performing background checks on your perspective ministers your church is…

  • Putting up a safeguard at the “doorway” of the organization that will, in most cases, scare off sexual predators.
  • Offering peace of mind to discerning parents when choosing a church, by knowing your ministry is being pro-active in trying to protect the children.

Protect My Ministry -

Protect My Ministry

Thousands of ministries trust Protect My Ministry, a ministry background check company. One of the only background check companies that will do a free “re-verification” of records from the national criminal database for a volunteer, and to also do a “true” 50 state search on sexual offenders.

Protect My Ministry is a Christian-owned and operated business, being 51% business and 49% ministry. This business was started as the co-owners noticed that churches were not fully aware of the best sources for background checks or truly what they were getting.
