JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a part-time position consisting of between 10-15 hours per week.
Your role will be that of director and you will work with the children's council and volunteers in the church to accomplish this task.
You will be a part of the ministry team at JBC and will work with other staff to carry out the Great Commission and stated purpose of the church through prayer and planning together.
Duties:
Lead Children's Church ministry:
- Recruit workers
- Provide training
- Ensure teaching material equipment and dvds are ready
- Make sure snacks are ready
Oversee Wednesday night children's mission night (RA's GA's Mission Friends is now one class)
- Make sure teachers are there weekly and fill-in when necessary.
- Provide any materials needed
Direct AWANA Ministry
- Recruit workers
- Provide Training
- Weekly review with commander or serve as commander to ensure it is operating properly
Plan special events including but not limited to:
- Easter Event
- Christmas musical planning with music minister
- Pics with Santa or an outreach event for Christmas
- Fall festival
- VBS
Build relationships with parents
- Get to know them
- Provide assistance as needed such as prayer, materials, etc...
- Send home material they can use to talk with their kids about what they are learning at church
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements:
- Candidate must present their written testimony detailing their salvation experience and where they are currently in their walk with Christ.
- Candidate must be an active member of their church and provide a written recommendation from their pastor.
- Candidate must possess a High School diploma
- Candidate must have experience working with elementary children in a church environment
- Candidate must have an outgoing personality and be able to connect with the children and their parents
- Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check
