JOB DESCRIPTION:
FBCO is looking for a Youth & Children’s Pastor who will actively seek to build thriving youth and children’s programs. This person will serve as the primary leader at FBCO for nursery through twelfth grade.
Primary Responsibilities
Youth
- Develop a ministry that fosters an environment of discipleship, community, and faith.
- Prepare and teach weekly lessons.
- Organize and maintain calendar of events and outings (camps, mission trips, etc.).
- Recruit, equip, and disciple volunteers.
- Have regular communication with parents.
- Actively seek to reach un-churched youth, children, and their families in the community.
- Invest in the lives of students and their families.
- Manage ministry social media accounts (e.g., Instagram).
Children
- Oversee and direct each of the following ministries to ensure their growth: nursery, children’s church, children’s Sunday School, and children’s Wednesday night.
- Recruit, equip, encourage, and disciple volunteers.
- Direct Vacation Bible School each summer.
General
- Maintain regular office hours.
- Manage ministry budgets for youth and children’s ministries.
- Participate in all staff meetings.
- Identify and implement strategies of growth and outreach for the youth and children’s ministries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Personal Qualifications
- Must be passionate about evangelism.
- Exhibits a personal lifestyle of spiritual growth through Bible study, prayer, and service.
- Must be passionate about youth and children’s ministry.
- Must be aligned with the vision and mission of FBCO, and with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Must have training or experience in leadership and/or ministry to children or youth.
- Must be a positive team player as a part of the larger staff and leadership team.
- Willingness to assist in additional areas not mentioned below, as needed by the senior pastor and church body.
- A capable teacher, and willing to preach on occasion.

$40,000/year
