Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Gainesville is seeking a local candidate to lead our 6-12 grade student ministry. Our student ministry has a strong team of youth workers, great facilities, and a desire to be led. The successful candidate will be a self-starting stakeholder in the ministry, hard working, and teachable. He will have a shepherd’s heart and a gift for equipping volunteer youth workers to be strong partners in the ministry.


Poplar Springs is seeking a Student Pastor with a sense of calling, a love for the Lord and His work, an eagerness to learn and grow in ministry, and an enthusiasm for working as part of a team. Successful candidates will be hard-working, a good communicator, and a capable leader of students and volunteers. Our expectations for education, experience, and age are highly flexible.

Candidates must have godly character and live above reproach. If married, he must be faithful to his wife, exercise sound judgment, be self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach. He must not abuse alcohol or other substances, be slow to anger, gentle, not quarrelsome, and not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well. Candidates must share the convictions, in both belief and practice, of the Baptist Faith & Message adopted June 14, 2000.
