JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Overview: The Kids Ministry Director will oversee the development and implementation of our kids ministry for children ages birth to 6th grade helping 4 Points Church fulfill its mission of reaching the least, the lost, and the lonely with the Gospel of Christ. This individual will be responsible for leading and equipping a team of volunteers to root and raise the next generation in Christ.
Essential Job Functions
People:
- Identify, develop, and pour into a Lead Volunteer Team who assist in the ongoing development of 4Kids volunteers.
- Ensure that new volunteers are assimilated into the 4Kids Team areas where they’re gifts and talents can be used effectively. (i.e., background checks, scheduling preferences, start date, etc.)
- Oversee a communication plan that connects the ministry of 4Kids to the parents of our students.
- Prepare periodic team training days to teach culture and competencies needed for a healthy kids team.
- Build a culture of encouragement within 4Kids for all volunteers and students who are involved.
Sunday Programming:
- Choose, plan, and prepare material for Sunday morning programming in the kids department. Consult with the Senior Pastor in determining vision and direction for the ministry's growth each calendar year.
- Prepare and send out a volunteer schedule one month in advance.
- Have weekly curriculum to teachers by Thursday afternoon.
- Make sure all necessary items/materials/snacks are in stock/purchased for the Kids area.
- Make sure all rooms are ready to go on Sunday mornings (tvs on, powerpoints up, material available, check-in computers/ipads on)
Administration:
- Prepare a Kid’s Budget every six months and monitor expenses to ensure that you are staying within the approved budget.
- Prepare & Plan Child Dedication with the Senior Pastor.
- Personal Responsibility
- Maintain God ordained priorities so that Jesus is the center of every aspect of your life, in the order outlined below:
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus.
- Relationship with your spouse (if married).
- Relationship with children (if applicable).
- Purpose in life/ministry
- Invest and invite the least, the lost, and the lonely to know Jesus and come to 4 Points Church.
- Financially support the vision of 4 Points Church by giving at least a minimum of 10% of your income.
- Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of 4 Points Church employees, as defined by the Employee Handbook.
- Must inform the Senior Pastor two weeks prior to planned time off.
- Must be on time to all functions. (15 minutes early is on time)
- Must come to 4 Points events expectant that God is going to do a mighty work.
- Must bring good energy to all 4 Points functions.
- Other Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to pour into the leaders below you in order for the Leaders to pour into the teams below them.
- Must be able to multitask.
