JOB DESCRIPTION:
Park Chapel Christian Church is seeking a man with the calling to join our ministry as the Pastor of Ministry & Leader Development. The role of the PMLD, is to work as a team with the Teaching Pastor and Elders to implement the mission and vision of the church and equip the Staff and PCCC members to be devoted disciples of Jesus.
REQUIREMENTS
- He will hold true to the Beliefs and Core Values of Park Chapel Christian Church and align with Restoration Movement Independent Christian Churches.
- He will protect the flock from false teaching and will seek the unity of the congregation.
- He will have, at minimum, a BA degree in Biblical Studies, or its equivalent, from an accredited school and will demonstrate that he is conversant in matters of theology and contemporary cultural issues.
- He will have demonstrated a servant and team approach to leadership in his prior ministry positions.
- Prefer that he will have at least 15 years of full-time teaching and leadership development at a local church.
- With a least 5 years of experience with churches of 750 and over members.
- He will be gifted in teaching and leadership development.
HIS WALK WITH GOD
- He must meet the qualifications of an elder, as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus and have the gift of Pastor/Teacher.
- He will continue to grow in his relationships with Jesus Christ, his wife, and his family.
- He will devote himself to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
- He must have a burden for prayer and lead the congregation in seeking God regularly.
- He will be known as a man of integrity, humility, and personal holiness, and display the Fruit of the Spirit in his life.
- He must desire in making other people a success through his personal mentoring and encouragement, and in his witness for Christ in personal relationships outside the church.
- His wife must be a mature Christian woman devoted to the Lord, her husband, and her children (if any). She must be completely supportive of her husband’s role as pastor.
- He will commit himself to a lifetime of continuing education and training.
- He will show commitment to the Great Commission in his walk with God.
PERSONAL STRENGTHS
- He must demonstrate a love for God and His Word, and a love for people. He must demonstrate a God-given call to the ministry.
- He must have the ability to preach, teach, and apply the Word of God in challenging, relevant ways.
- He must have the ability to relate well with people from many different backgrounds and ethnicities.
- He must have strong, proven communication and leadership skills and experience.
- He must have the ability to unify and mobilize people in pursuit of a common vision, for the benefit of both the church and the wider community.
- He must have the ability to develop and lead high-caliber leaders.
- He must be an excellent multidirectional communicator who values all staff contributions and builds inter-departmental trust while championing teamwork.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- The PMLD will offer pastoral leadership to the staff and congregation alongside the Teaching Pastor and elders.
- The PMLD will ensure that the systems, practices, and policies of the church responsibly and effectively support its mission and vision.
- The PMLD will provide leadership and oversight to Kids, Student, Adult Discipleship and Logistic Teams, as well as evaluate, and mentor existing staff in these areas of ministry.
- Be part of the teaching team and be able to preach 8-12 time per year.
- The PMLD will anticipate future leadership needs within the church family; identifies, develops, mentors, and trains staff and volunteers who will exemplify Christlike servant-leadership among us.
- Oversee and execute the administration of the church through appropriate staff, lay leadership teams, and consultants (as needed).
- He will lead other church services and functions as appropriate.
- He will be a member of the Elders Leadership Team along with the Teaching Pastor. This team will establish the vision, direction, and strategy of the church.
- He will report directly to the Elders and perform duties as assigned by the Elders.
- The PMLD will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of a new member assimilation initiative.
- Keeps the church ministries on track in living out our commitment to discipleship, outreach/service, and missions.
- Develops, articulates, and inspires by personal example in all areas of ministry.
