JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Student and Worship Director/Pastor will manage and lead both the Worship and Student ministries at Dunns Creek Baptist Church. They must have a genuine love for the Lord and be passionate about both student and worship ministry. They will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to plan and implement the vision of the church. This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
Duties:
Worship Ministry
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the worship services, with a focus on providing a biblical, God-honoring experience
- Work collaboratively with the pastor, instrumentalists, vocalists, and AV technicians to ensure all worship services are organized and executed in a seamless, harmonious manner
- Provide a worship service that incorporates both contemporary and traditional music that is blended together and compliments each other
- Lead the congregation during Sunday morning worship services, as well as other events such as VBS, revivals, funerals etc., if requested.
- Coordinate practice times with the instrumentalists, vocalists, and AV technicians
- Provide oversight and leadership to the instrumentalists so they know the music to be played well in advance of the day of the performance
- Provide a 3-4 week advance schedule to everyone involved in the music program
- Partner with choir directors to schedule the Children’s, Senior Adult, and Sanctuary Choirs
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to select music for worship services
- Partner with choir director to maintain the church music library (music materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other related issues that pertain to the music ministry and worship in general)
- Partner with choir director to develop an annual music ministry budget proposal to present to the Finance Committee
- Update and maintain CCLI licensing and required duties per contract
Student Ministry
- Lead a team of volunteers in the creation and operation of weekly services and routine special events
- Oversee the Sunday morning small group ministry, Sunday evening Worship Service, and Wednesday Night Bible Study
- Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers
- Educate, encourage, and facilitate youth to participate in evangelical and missional outreach
- Plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high-energy services for students
- Create and manage a student ministry calendar to include weekend events/retreats and Camp
- Communicate regularly with parents
- Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of student ministry facilities
- Coordinate and implement an annual student ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Finance Committee
General
- Maintain a strong faith and personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Function as a member of the pastoral staff performing baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. as related to the needs of the students
- Preach and teach on occasion in the absence of the Senior Pastor
- Must be a faithful DCBC member, including regular church attendance and tithing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A converted Christian who meets the biblical criteria in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, preferably ministry related
- Current driver’s license required
- Knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and other job-related software.
