JOB DESCRIPTION:

Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY is seeking a full-time Minister of Music and Worship to lead the overall music and worship ministry. The church embraces a blended worship style.


Qualifications

The Minister of Music and Worship will be a Christian and a personal soul winner, will be called by God to the ministry and will hold the Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God. He will demonstrate true leadership through spiritual maturity and integrity. It is desirable for the Minister of Music and Worship to have a bachelor's degree in music or a related field along with at least three years of experience in a church with similar responsibilities.


Principal Function

The Minister of Music and Worship is responsible to the Senior Pastor and to the church body for evaluating and determining methods of meeting the congregation’s needs. He will perform the responsibilities described here in close cooperation with all staff members to advance the total ministry of the church.

Responsibilities


The Minister of Music and Worship will . .

  1. Plan worship services with input from the Senior Pastor, conduct congregational singing, lead adult choir, ensembles, praise teams and praise bands, as well as regular and special worship services and programs
  2. Have oversight and ultimate responsibility for music ministry activities and programs that involve all age groups
  3. Oversee all dramatic presentations at Yellow Creek Baptist Church
  4. Plan, conduct and evaluate workers meetings and training sessions for volunteer leaders in the music and worship ministry
  5. Develop new ministries within our church and community enlisting members to meet these needs
  6. Stay informed on materials and methods pertinent to our music and worship ministry
  7. Meet with other staff, committees and church leadership for coordination of music and worship programs
  8. Develop the church budget for music and worship ministries, striving to operate these programs within the approved church budget
  9. Work with multimedia and lighting teams to enhance worship services
  10. Perform other ministerial duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.
