JOB DESCRIPTION:
Principle Function:
To give guidance, supervision, and promotion to the ministries pertaining to birth through 12th grade.
Staff Relationships:
Shall work under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Pastor, in cooperation with other staff members.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the church in planning, conducting and evaluating a comprehensive ministry plan for our age-graded ministries.
2. Direct the enlistment and training of workers for the ministries they are a part of.
3. Ensure that all volunteers are trained per our child protection policies.
4. Establish and maintain regular communication with volunteers, parents and the church.
5. Plan and conduct special events for age graded ministries; camps, outreach events, mission trips and other activities that promote the core values of the church.
6. Supervise and give guidance to the Associate Family Minister and other paid workers.
7. Develop biblically based programming for age graded ministries that may include, but not limited to Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
8. Build impactful and trusted relationships with parents and volunteers.
9. Train, equip and encourage parents and volunteers in areas pertaining to Bible study, discipleship and evangelism.
10. Develop strong congregational teams to come alongside and help support and carry out the ministry to children, youth and their families.
11. Provide pastoral care to children, youth and their families.
12. Make regular attempts to be involved in the lives of the families you have been called to work with.
13. Conduct regular meetings with volunteers.
14. Ensure visitors and their families are followed up with in a timely manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking an individual to lead the age-graded ministries (birth-12th grade) of First Baptist Church Port Neches, Texas. The ideal candidate would have ministry experience and be someone with strong administrative and communication skills. A seminary degree or some type of theological training is preferred but not required.
This person will be the primary leader of our age-graded ministries as they shepherd children, youth and their families on their faith journey. A part time associate will be hired to assist the Family Minister.
FBC Port Neches has a strong volunteer base to work with. This group is eager for direction and prepared for future growth. Due to the nature of this position, candidates must have a high commitment to team ministry, relationships and accountability.
COMPENSATION:
$57,500
