Beulah Baptist Church is seeking a bi-vocational youth minister.



  • A candidate for Youth Minister must first and foremost, confess to be a born-again Christian with a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • He must firmly embrace evangelical theology as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • The candidate must agree to become a member of Beulah Baptist Church upon election.
  • College degree preferred.

Principal Functions:

  • To provide an effective ministry for youth (grades 7-12) with the goal of sharing Christ’s love by word and deed.
  • To encourage youth to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • To help Christian youth discover their spiritual gifts.
  • To guide and equip youth to use their gifts, interests, and abilities for the mission of Jesus Christ as a part of Beulah Baptist Church.
  • To develop relationships with youth and their families.


  • This bi-vocational, non-benefited position will require an average of 15-20 hours per week, inclusive of regular church services.
  • Minimum of 3 hours per week should be spent in visitation and recruitment.


  1. Provide weekly instruction from the Scriptures in all youth classes throughout the week.
  2. Develop programs that will accomplish youth ministry goals including Bible study, discipleship small groups, retreats, fellowships, opportunities for creative ministries.
  3. Involve parents in ministry to and with their youth in matters regarding project planning, activities, youth group participation, and compliance with the constitution and bylaws whenever possible.
  4. Visit youth members and prospective members. Document contacts and maintain a prospect list.
  5. Submit articles to church newsletter regarding youth activities, events, happenings.
  6. Adhere to budgetary guidelines for allowable expenditures &/or obtain prior approval. Provide fundraising opportunities to help cover the expenses for over-night trips, youth retreats etc.
  7. Confer with Pastor and Church Council about the church calendar to add or plan youth involvement with scheduled churchwide events.
  8. Utilize volunteers as appropriate to support youth ministry.
  9. Enforce policies which assure safety and security for youth. These policies include, but are not limited to: no one-on-one contact, respect confidentiality for disclosures by youth yet understand the limits to confidentiality when working with youth. (Youth workers must report to the Pastor if a minor discusses harming him/herself or others, committing a crime, or being abused). (This guideline is in compliance with state law). Enforce expectations for appropriate attire, provide constructive discipline, obtain permission slips for all applicable outings or conferences, maintain emergency contact file, ascertain medical problems and food/environmental allergies, enforce “no cell phone or texting” rule during worship services.
  10. Coordinate the planning and implementation of youth Mission projects.
  11. Coordinate a monthly youth activity outside of the regular weekly services.
  12. Any other duties as assigned by the pastor.
