JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Pastor

• The first and foremost responsibility is to study the Bible so to understand what God has said.
• Prepare sermons to present to the congregation. These sermons should be God inspired and made applicable to how we should live.
• Pray for the congregation for spiritual health and other special needs.
• Be a positive role model, live a righteous life, and represent our church in the various local communities.
• Lead the spiritual life of the congregation through small groups, Bible Studies, activities, and working one on one with church leaders.
• Handle church administration, misc. correspondence, church records, oversee the prayer chain, and prepare church bills for payment with the church treasurer.
• Oversee the church building and be sure it is ready for services and meetings.
• Care for your immediate family by keeping regular business hours to allow time at home/activities.
• Attend denominational meetings as representation is needed.
• Attend seminars and workshops related to ministry that will refresh and challenge you, as well as encourage new ideas.
• Visit shut-ins, those in the hospitals, funerals, and spiritual counseling, of all natures, as needed.
• Meet with area Pastors for fellowship, encouragement, and planning for various community services and activities.
