Position Overview

Boaz Baptist Church is seeking a full-time or bi-vocational Pastor to provide biblical preaching, spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and discipleship for our congregation. The ideal candidate will have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, a calling to pastoral ministry, and a commitment to conservative Baptist doctrine and the authority of Scripture. This role is central in guiding the church in its mission to glorify God, make disciples, and share the gospel in the community.

Primary Responsibilities

Preaching & Teaching

●       Prepare and deliver Christ-centered, biblically faithful sermons for weekly worship services.

●       Teach and communicate biblical doctrine consistent with Boaz Baptist Church Statement of Beliefs.

●       Lead or support additional teaching opportunities (Bible studies, classes, small groups, etc.).

Pastoral Care 

●       Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and encouragement to individuals and families.

●       Visit members in hospitals, nursing homes, or home settings as needed. We believe this is the responsibility of all believers of the Church and not solely the ministry of the pastor.

●       Perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties as needed.

Leadership & Administration 

●       Work with deacons, ministry leaders, and committees to set vision and direction for the church.

●       Provide oversight and support for church ministries, programs, and outreach efforts.

●       Lead staff and volunteers with humility, integrity, and collaboration.

●       Participate in planning and leading worship services.

Discipleship & Evangelism 

●       Encourage and equip the congregation for personal spiritual growth and Christian service.

●       Lead efforts to reach the community with the gospel through evangelism and missions.

●       Support and develop discipleship pathways for all ages.
