JOB DESCRIPTION:
Kenefick Southern Baptist Church is in search of a Pastor that serves as the chief shepherd, preacher, teacher, and spiritual leader of a rural Baptist congregation in a fast-growing area. This role calls for a godly, ordained man who lives a Christ-centered life, communicates biblical truth effectively, cares deeply for people, passionate about serving Christ, equips leaders/volunteers, and administratively oversees the church—all anchored in Scripture, Baptist doctrine, and the Great Commission.
Called, ordained, and qualified under 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9, and 1 Peter 5:1–4 as required by Baptist ecclesiology.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching & Worship
- Prepare and deliver biblically expository sermons weekly, including ordinances.
- Oversee worship planning in partnership with worship teams and staff.
- Invite congregational participation in evangelism through sermons and service invitations.
2. Shepherding & Pastoral Care
- Implement visitation programs for new, homebound, hospitalized, and grieving members.
- Provide biblical counseling in areas like premarital, family, grief, and spiritual guidance; coordinate with professionals as needed.
3. Leadership & Equipping the Saints
- Lead vision casting, discipleship, and evangelism initiatives, encouraging members to use spiritual gifts.
- Mentor paid staff and volunteers; provide direction to YouthGroup, Kid Ministry, Sunday School, outreach, and ministries.
4. Administration & Governance
- Maintain operational consistency with the church’s bylaws.
- Oversee budgeting planning with finance committees; supervise office staff and facilities.
- Moderate business and membership meetings.
5. Community Engagement & Denominational Involvement
- Represent the church at civic and denominational events and encourage involvement in mission work.
- Develop/Support outreach programs, mission trips, and community service initiatives.
Qualifications & Preferred Attributes
Spiritual & Theological
- Must be a born-again believer, ordained/licensed Baptist pastor in good standing, passionate about serving Christ.
- Firmly uphold and teach Biblical doctrine consistent with Baptist Faith and Message.
- Exhibit strong character, humility, teaching ability, compassion, fiscal integrity, and biblical leadership fruit.
Education & Experience
- Preferred Seminary Degree from reputable Organization.
- Preferred minimum of 3 years pastoral experience; including leadership in worship, counseling, and administration.
- Experience in small to mid-size congregations preferred, including staff team mentoring.
Practical Skills
- Excellent preaching, teaching, and communication abilities.
- Organizational and delegation skills to oversee staff, volunteers, programming, and budget.
- Counseling experience, conflict resolution, people management, and community outreach disposition.
- Flexibility in scheduling; ability to blend ministry and family priorities effectively.
- Experience with social media and web outreach.
