JOB DESCRIPTION:
Northwood Baptist Church is a growing, multi-generational church in North Charleston, SC, with a clear purpose: to make disciples who make disciples. We are gospel-centered, Bible-saturated, and mission-minded, serving the Lowcountry through vibrant Sunday worship and a clear discipleship pathway. Northwood is family-friendly, community-engaged, and eager to see students, singles, couples, and seniors live on mission where they live, work, and play.
We seek a full-time Student Pastor to lead our middle and high school ministry. The ideal candidate is an experienced student pastor who can cast vision, preach/teach Scripture with clarity, equip volunteers, partner with parents, and cultivate a culture of evangelism and discipleship among students. Core priorities include weekly gatherings, small groups, leader development, campus/community outreach, retreats/camps, care and follow-up systems, and alignment with Northwood’s overall discipleship pathway.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
What you’ll lead
- Vision and strategy for student discipleship aligned with Northwood’s discipleship pathway
- Weekly teaching environments and student groups
- Volunteer recruitment, training, and care systems
- Parent partnership and communication rhythms
- School/community outreach, events, retreats, and camps
- A safe, welcoming culture with clear follow-up for guests and new believers
What you bring
- A clear call to student ministry and a pastor’s heart
- 3-5 years of experience in student ministry
- At least a bachelor's degree in Christian studies/ministry—preferably a Master's degree or working toward a Master's degree from an accredited seminary.
- Ability to teach Scripture faithfully and compellingly
- Skill in building healthy teams and developing leaders
- Relational warmth with students and parents; organizational follow-through
- Alignment with Northwood’s statement of faith (Baptist Faith and Message 2000) and ministry philosophy
