Associate Pastor of Student Ministries

First Baptist Church, Pampa, TX

First Pampa is a strong, healthy church with an outstanding student ministry and a ton of potential! We have supportive parents, an excellent student ministry facility, and strong budget resources.

The position responsibilities include:
• Overall supervision and leadership of student ministry, adult volunteers, office assistant, and summer interns.
• Overseeing/leading Sunday Student Ministry Bible study and discipleship opportunities.
• Overseeing Wednesday night programming (avg 90-100) and weekday high school outreach called "Taco Tuesday" (avg 125+). There is currently a large percentage of junior high students with tremendous growth potential fed by a growing children's ministry.
• Overseeing year-round activities (camps, domestic and international mission trips, etc).
• Facilitating outreach for students and their families.
• Leads and trains students and families in evangelism.
• Many opportunities exist to impact student ministry not only in the church, but also the city and region.

The ideal candidate:

• Is a committed & contagious follower of Jesus!
• Loves being a minister to young people.
• Is 'community-minded' and able to maintain strong existing relationships with local schools whose doors are receptive to local ministries.
• Ability to creatively reach out to non-churched students and families.
• Competent in recruiting, training, and leading adult volunteer team.
• Is organized and works as a team player with existing staff.
• Knows the Bible and communicates effectively with teenagers and their families.

First Pampa is a healthy church in a Texas Panhandle town of around 20,000. The Associate Pastor of Student Ministries will serve with a fun and dedicated staff who strive to work as a team, and a church family that has high regard for the pastoral staff.

Qualifications: Seminary preferred, bachelor's minimum, plus 5+ years ministry experience, or substantial leadership experience in another capacity.
