Minister – Meeker Christian Church

Meeker, Colorado

Meeker Christian Church is seeking a Minister to lead our growing, close-knit church family in rural Colorado. Established in the 1960s, we are an independent, Bible-centered, Gospel-driven church with an average of 50–60 people on Sunday.

We are looking for a minister who loves Jesus, faithfully teaches God's Word, and has a youthful heart — energetic, comfortable with younger generations, open to technology, and willing to bring new ideas while respecting the traditions and people of our church.

To glorify God by proclaiming Jesus Christ, making disciples, and building a loving, unified church grounded in the truth of God's Word. Our simple mission is: Know Christ. Grow in Christ. Serve Christ. Share Christ.

We believe in the Trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, salvation through Christ, baptism by immersion, and weekly communion. 

Worship

Sundays: 10:00 am Bible Study Service and 11:00 am Worship Service; Mid-Week Bible Study TBD

Our worship service is traditional with some contemporary music, including hymns and weekly communion. 

Our current minister is retiring. Our current pianist is the wife of our retiring minister, so we will also need a pianist when they leave. Musical ability is preferred but not required.

We want our next minister to build trust first, then help us grow. We are not looking for someone who wants to change everything immediately. We want someone who will love our congregation, preserve strong relationships between generations, and help us reach more people for Christ.

Responsibilities

• Preaching and biblical teaching
• Bible studies and discipleship
• Baptisms, weddings, and funerals
• Ministerial care and counseling as time permits
• Working with church elders and the Church Board
• Helping the church grow spiritually and numerically
• Building relationships within our local community

Qualifications

Required: Christian faith, agreement with our Statement of Faith, commitment to Scripture, ordination, seminary or Bible college education.

Preferred: Ministerial experience, rural/small-church experience, technology skills, ability to connect across generations, and ideally- musical ability.

We are open to candidates entering their first senior pastoral position.

Compensation

The position may be full-time or bi-vocational. Compensation is open for discussion based on experience. Church-provided housing will be included: Relocation assistance will be considered. Health insurance is not currently provided by the church; a bi-vocational position within the community may provide access to health benefits.
